Fat Swims and Body Positive Beach Days have added so much joy in fat community over the last few years, but not everybody can make it to one, so we’re bringing those swimmy beachy vibes to you on Zoom with our Fat Liberation Month Virtual Fat Splash! You bring your own summer snacks and summer looks, and we’ll bring you summertime stories read by a queen, sunshine tunes spun by a fat glamour icon, and a real life mermaid to host it all! Join special guest host Mermaid Che Monique, Drag Story Hour featuring Atlanta Chapter Founder Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbake, and DJ Sauyce for fun (not in) the sun with fat community!

Miss Terra Cotta Sugarbaker (she/her): International Drag Activist. Fatshionista. Missionary in a wig. DJ Saucye (she/her) is a fat activist and content creator with over a decade of experience building unapologetic digital spaces rooted in fat liberation. She is the host of the Aye Yo Fat Girl podcast, where she leads bold, culturally grounded conversations challenging diet culture, anti-fat bias, and respectability politics.
Saucye's work prioritizes visibility, fat vanity, and inclusion. She is currently expanding her creative practice through DJing, blending sound, storytelling, and energy while continuing to advocate loudly and intentionally for fat people everywhere. Follow her @saucye_

Mermaid Chè Monique (she/her)is a DC area based mermaid performer, model and MERtivational speaker. You may recognize her from on Netflix’s MerPeople or a feature on her on NBC, 60 Second Docs, UK’s Channel 4 and more.
Being a mermaid was a lifelong dream of Chè’s. Mermaiding is her way of reminding the world that anything is possible. Chè Monique’s high glam images spread messages of body positivity and defy stereotypes in a fun and celebratory way.
Chè Monique is the founder of Society of Fat Mermaids, a size inclusive clothing line and celebratory community. Chè is a leader in the mer world who encourages education and inclusivity through work such as her online panel discussions, serving as an advisor for the Mermaid at Any Age community and online movements such at #MerfolkForBlackLives as well as building the Society of Fat Mermaids platform. Education and water safety are very important to Chè who is building out an online learning platform called, School for Fish. Chè Monique is also a NAUI Mermaid Instructor and partners with the Rising Tide Effect to spread messages on water safety.
