Why naafa?

All people deserve respect. One-third of the world’s population is fat, yet fat people are discriminated against in all aspects of daily life; from employment to education. We struggle to get everything from basic accommodations like chairs and seats that fit, to adequate, compassionate medical care. NAAFA opposes such discrimination to help liberate fat people and allow them to live their lives to the fullest every day.

We come in all sizes…

"It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences.”

[Audre Lorde, Our Dead Behind Us: Poems]

NAAFA is an all-volunteer multigenerational organization looking to change the narrative around fatness, fight for fat-rights and increase respect for all people in all bodies. Fat people have rights and they need to be upheld! Join us.
