The Fat Spotlight is the NAAFA’s new interview series. Hosted by Tigress Osborn (she/her) and recorded with a live audience on Zoom, each episode will also be available on numerous podcast apps.

In episode one, Tigress talks to educator and content creator Jay Salazar (he/him) about his journey from diet culture champion to fat liberationist. We’ll also talk about body positivity for men, the intersection of neurodivergence and disordered eating, surviving TikTok trolls, and maintaining self esteem as a middle school teacher while being roasted by your students.

Jay Salazar (he/him) is a neurodivergent educator and social media content creator who uses humor and satire to talk about the experiences that have shaped his life. He’s all about sparking engagement and starting conversations that get people to question what they know and be open to learning (and unlearning) along the way. Jay dives into topics like racial inequity, education, and ADHD, and is currently sharing his personal journey of breaking free from diet culture. After years of battling binge eating disorder, chronic under-eating, and over-training, Jay now focuses on his path to food freedom, fat liberation, joyful movement, weight-inclusive nutrition, and embracing health at every size.
