May 17, 2024: TikTok has begun reviewing and blocking certain posts with potentially dangerous diet advice as part of a new policy. Influencers, finding posts blocked due to the new policy, are switching to other social platforms or trying to adjust their posts to fit the new policy.

May 25, 2024: The second batch of episodes of Bridgerton’s Season 3 includes a scene featuring Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Featherington) being as “naked as possible” to the excitement and anticipation of the fat community.

June 2024: Using four studies, researchers have created a fat microaggression scale offering a newly validated quantitative measure of fat microaggressions and an initial framework for naming and categorizing these experiences.

June 2024: Six women are spotlighted as the plus-size actors to watch in the upcoming year.

June 2024: Jordan Underwood (they/he), a New York City-based plus-size model, artist, and fat activist invites tri-state area “fat baddies” to Fat Beach Day. The Guardian covers the event at Jacob Riis Beach in New York. This event coincides with LGBTQIA+ Pride Month and celebrates bodies of all sizes.
