Local Fat Group Leaders Networking

Sunday, August 23, 2026

11:00am PT / 12:00pm MT / 1:00pm CT / 2:00pm ET

Duration: 60 minutes

Do you run a fat liberation or fat-centered body positivity group where you live? We’d love to help you get to know NAAFA better and help you meet other group leaders like yourself! Come ask questions, share best practices, and discuss how we can all support each others’ work even though we have different homebases!

This session is intended for people who are already leading a local fat liberation group/space. If you’re hoping to launch a new group, this is not the session for you, but please stay tuned for a fall meeting for brand new organizers and leaders.

Hosted by NAAFA Executive Director Tigress Osborn with special guests Samantha Powers of Bigger Bodies Boston and Traci Tiwari of Fat Babes of Phoenix.

This event is presented via Zoom, in English, and with English auto-captions by Otter.ai. ASL Interpreting by Pro Bono ASL.

Note: ASL requests need to be received 72 hours in advance, please contact us if you plan to attend and would like this accommodation.

Throughout the year, NAAFA offers virtual and in-person events for fat people and fat-positive friends of all sizes. Our virtual events are offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of our community of NAAFA donors. To support this and other NAAFA programming, visit naafa.org/give.

The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with a mission to change perceptions of fat and to end size discrimination through advocacy, education, and support.
