Intro to Fat Liberation with Tigress
Saturday, August 8, 2026
2:00pm PT / 3:00pm MT / 4:00pm CT / 5:00pm ET
Duration: 60 minutes
The Fat Liberation Movement has existed for decades! And no matter what mainstream media keeps saying about body positivity being over, fat liberationists all over the world are still fighting for fat visibility, fat access, and fat rights. But what exactly is fat liberation? How is it different from body positivity? How has NAAFA contributed over the years, and what are we up to now? Come learn about all this and more, as our Executive Director Tigress Osborn hosts a free Intro to Fat Lib Zoom teach-in. Whether you’re new, newish, or just need a little refresher, this workshop will give you some history, some vocabulary, and some updates from the Campaign for Size Freedom. Plus, you’ll pick up some fun facts that just might show up again in our Fat Trivia Challenge later this month!
Throughout the year, NAAFA offers virtual and in-person events for fat people and fat-positive friends of all sizes. Our virtual events are offered free of charge thanks to the generosity of our community of NAAFA donors. To support this and other NAAFA programming, visit naafa.org/give.
This event is presented via Zoom, in English, and with English auto-captions by Otter.ai. ASL Interpreting by Pro Bono ASL.
