Starting the New Year with Fat Joy and Fat Community at Fat Con
2024 started with a gathering of over 200 fat folx in Seattle for Fat Con, three days of making fat friends and exploring various aspects of fat liberation. NAAFA Board Members Dawn Clark and Elaine Lee, report back on how impressed they were with this new addition to the world of fat-positive gatherings.

At the end of 2023, we asked you to #FundFat by donating to help NAAFA build programming and do policy work that supports fat community, fat labor, fat freedom, and fat joy. From All-In to AdColor - Meet our Google Ally Melú Lopéz
Last year, NAAFA and Google partnered to create All-In Plus Size Guidelines, a first-of-its kind project to help authentically represent plus-size people in marketing. This year, Google executive Melina “Melú” Lopez was nominated for AdColor’s Innovator Award. Read more about how Melú continues to work with NAAFA and fat activists to support fat rights and fat liberation.

Building Our Best Board
Just a few years ago, NAAFA was run by only three volunteer board members, and we weren’t sure what the future held. Today, we have a full-time Executive Director who works alongside a diverse group of impressive board members and other skilled leaders. We can’t wait to see what this year’s board search will lead to!
