In this Fat Liberation Month edition of Ahead of the Curve, Marcy Cruz (she/her) (@fearlesslyjustme) is joined by legendary fashion model and photographer Velvet d’Amour(she/her) (@volup2). Velvet became world-renowned as a plus-size model after she became the first 300-pound model to walk a Paris runway in 2006. She has modeled prêt-à-porter collections for Jean Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, and many others. She has been featured in French Vogue and numerous other publications, and she is the founder and editor of Volup2 Magazine. Velvet d'Amour (she/her) is a Paris-based, American artist/photographer and international fashion, screen, and dance sensation, known equally for her stunning and curvaceous beauty, as well her sophisticated discourse on the topics of beauty, tolerance, and self esteem.
