Event Description

When visionary fashion designers create unique garments for fat people that not only fit our bodies, but fit our style and lives, they give us a way to express ourselves and to take up space in an area that's not always welcoming to us.

In this episode of Ahead of the Curve, host Marcy Cruz (she/her) will chat with one of those iconic visionaries, designer Bertha Pearl (she/her) of Size Queen Clothing. Bertha has been designing clothes for ALL sizes for decades and has merged her fat activism, love of fabric, and love of the dramatic to create bold, colorful, unique designs that aren't made to hide fat bodies. We’ll discuss how Bertha has built a reputation for designs that allow fat bodies to stand out in all their beauty and magic.
