Meet Our New 2025 Board Members!

[Image description: There are three photographs laid out on a charcoal gray background with blue, yellow, and white shapes. From left to right, the photos are of Pucks A’Plenty (they/them), Amanda Evans (she/her), and Natalie Casal Alcaíno (she/ella/ellx). Above the photos is the text: “Meet Our New NAAFA Board Members for 2025”]

Our search for new members of the NAAFA Board of Directors started last fall and wrapped up in December with great results! Big fat thanks to all of our community who shared the search, nominated community members, and provided recommendations for candidates. We had up to three seats to fill, and we decided to fill all three. It was such a tough choice to finalize our three selections, because the applicant pool was one of the best, brightest, and most diverse we’ve ever seen. We are excited to welcome these three new leaders to the NAAFA Board of Directors.

Mx. Pucks A'Plenty (they/them) is a Black, fat, disabled, nonbinary, Queer artist, activist, and educator. Pucks has been a burlesque performer and producer based in Seattle, WA for the last 8 years and is the founder of both Fatlesque Fest NW and Fat Con. With a background in fundraising, event organizing, and sales, Pucks is looking forward to bringing these skills to the NAAFA board. Fat Liberation is at the cornerstone of Pucks' work. You can follow Pucks @pucksaplenty on Instagram.

Natalie Casal Alcaíno (she/ella/ellx) is an organizer and graphic designer from the Global South living in the US Midwest. She is receiving her Master’s in Social Work, with a specialization in Trauma-Informed Care, and is part of various local groups, including Social Workers Against Genocide (SWAG). As a gordx (fat), cuír, Latinx immigrant, fat liberation is an embodied praxis for Natalie. When she’s not in school, seeing clients, or organizing, she enjoys reading, sleeping, and sharing space with her friends and cats.

Amanda Evans (she/her) is a disabled, queer, superfat woman living and working in the Silicon Valley, CA. As a member of the leadership team for a small, alternative high school, Amanda works every day to leverage her love for both policy and people to serve the most vulnerable youth in her district. In the Fat Liberation world, she admins and moderates several fat lib Facebook groups, including her baby, Living Superfat, which brings together superfat folks for support and community. Amanda is passionate about intersectionality and inclusion. She is a total geek who enjoys board, card, and roleplaying games and arts and crafts.
