Westin at Los Angeles Airport August 11 through August 16, 1998 Achieve your hopes and dreams at any size We all have hopes and dreams, but many of us have been told that - because of our
size - we aren't entitled to reach for the stars. We've been held back by job
discrimination or discrimination in school, and we've been discouraged from trying to
make our dreams a reality by the negative comments we get from people in our
fatphobic society. Through NAAFA, we have a community where we can share our
hopes and dreams, and receive the inspiration and encouragement to reach for the
stars.
Join us as we celebrate both our personal and political accomplishments, and connect
with each other to share resources that will enable us to continue to educate people,
advocate to end size discrimination, and to provide the tools of self-empowerment to
people all sizes of large. Join us as we reaffirm our commitment to creating a society
where hopes and dreams can thrive at any size, and where the stars of size acceptance
and self-acceptance can shine brightly.
There's never been a better time to be a part of the size acceptance movement, so
come to Los Angeles and reach for the stars!
Join us for NAAFA's 1998 Convention August 11 - 16 in Los Angeles This summer, you'll want to make the star of size acceptance shine brightly at NAAFA's 1998 Convention. For over a quarter of a century, NAAFA has been lighting the way toward acceptance - in the workplace, in the health care delivery system, and in society at large. Now is the time to rededicate ourselves to ending discrimination and empowering people all sizes of large, and to celebrate our accomplishments and our community. Questions?
